 Go to this site http://grids.heroku.com/   u can easily divide your templates into Columns

Install guide guide extension in photoshop

Step3:

For example if the template with is 940px   . u have to make ur template width 960px.

each and every template u have to add 20px

Gutter (space between the span)   - width  20px;

Margin left & right - 10px;
